Well this week was a pretty good week for us. We started the week off in an interesting way right after I had emailed you all. We were walking out the door to go to Matehuala when we got a phone call from some members who said they needed to talk to us urgently. I guess that some parents had gotten in an argument with their 18 year son and he decided to leave the house. He trusts us alot so they asked us for our help so we went and helped them look for him. Luckily it turned out that he had just gone over to his grandma’s house on the other side of the city. So that was a first for me haha looking for a run-a-way. Right after though we took off for Matehuala. It’s always nice going up to Matehuala because it is a really small town compared to San Luis. It’s has a population of about 100,000 people but it is pretty rural. It just seems alot more relaxed which is a good break. It’s always fun work with people that don’t have very much time in the mission as well because they usually are alot easier to teach. I didn’t have any crazy experiences this time though which was kind of disappointing haha. As well, a little 9 year girl from a family we reactivated named Rose was baptized Tuesday in Torreon, Coahila by her grandpa so she should be getting confirmed in our ward this next Sunday. In that same family we are also working on getting a couple married so that the wife can get baptized. The husband is a member already but he’s still not super converted we could say. So if all goes well she should get baptized this month. We also found this really cool guy on Thursday. We were walking down the street and saw a SUV in front of a house that had Utah license plates. We figured that if they had lived in Utah that they probably knew about the church. We knocked the door and this guy opened who was had like 25 years and spoke perfect English. We started talking to him and found out that the SUV was one of his friend’s but that he had lived in Texas for like 9 years but was deported like a year ago. He was pretty sad because I guess he was married and has 2 daughters up there but can’t go back for like 20 years. On top of that his wife is divorcing him so she can get government support for being a single mom. So as you might imagine he was pretty sad. He also served a few months in prison and had come in contact with some Christian churches that he really liked. So we taught him the first lesson and he was really receptive. We came back Saturday and he accepted a baptismal date for the 19 of June. Then on Sunday he came to church at 8 in the morning after working a 10 hour night shift. So yeah he’s pretty cool haha. His name is Lucio by the way. As well we helped baptize two 8 year girls after the services yesterday. They are the granddaughters of some members in the ward but they parents of one are super inactive and the other lives with her grandparents so we taught them all the lessons and everything. As well, another lady we have been teaching came to church yesterday and has a baptismal date for this week. This week will be pretty crazy though because we have to go to Leon tomorrow and won’t get back til late Wednesday night. So we’ll see how it goes haha. We’re doing good though here. I feel good about the work we’re doing even if we haven’t had quite as many baptisms a while ago, we sure have been able to see success with the less-active members. But I’m thinking we should have quite a few baptisms this month if everything goes good. Well love you all have an awesome week!!


Hel. 8:24 "And now, seeing ye know these things and cannot deny them except ye shall lie, therefore in this ye have sinned, for ye have rejected all these things, notwithstanding so many evidences which ye have received; yea, even ye have received all things, both things in heaven, and all things which are in the earth, as a witness that they are true" 25) But behold, ye have rejected the truth, and rebelled against your holy God; and even at this time, instead of laying up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where nothing doth corrupt, and where nothing can come which is unclean, ye are heaping up for yourselves wrath against the day of judgment" Everything we have in this life is an evidence of the things that we believe in some way or another and if we deny what we know, we are sinning and will be held responsible for that knowledge in the day of judgment. Really this scripture is true, if we look for the little things we can see these evidences of truth every day,
