Hola family!! Well this was an awesome week for us! We worked hard and had a few miracles happen, I’ll start from the beginning though. On Tuesday like I said we went to the museum that was built to celebrate the 100 and 200th anniversary of the Independence war and Revolutionary war respectively. It was really interesting and I learned quite a few things that I didn`t know. There were also some pretty cool things to do there. They had this thing that was like a snowboarding simulator and it was like a snowboard welded to a swing and with your body motion you could do flips on the swing. We got a pretty good video of it but it would take forever to send it as an attachment. I got going really fast though. They also had a decently sized ramp covered in artificial snow with tubes to give people a taste of sledding. It was pretty fun as well. And also, that had a special tent for snowball fights. So we all had a snowball fight as a zone haha. So it was definitely out of the usual to do here in Mexico. The best part was it cost about 2 dollars haha.
This week went well though and we ended up bringing 10 investigators to church. Some of them are progressing a little slower than others but we have 2 for sure baptisms this week and Guadalupe still isn`t sure if she is going to get baptized this week but we are hoping for a miracle. Josè is getting baptized on Saturday and I it was really cool because his whole family went to church on Sunday including his wife who is a 7th day Adventist and his sister who isn`t a member. We are hoping to put a baptismal date with them tomorrow. Also, we are baptizing Juanito who is the son in that family of 4 we are teaching. He is really cool though and is on like chapter 15 in the Book of Mormon and is really excited to get baptized. His sister, Monica and mom, Berta also want to get baptized but his sister needs to get separated from or married to her boyfriend first and his mom is working on stopping smoking and drinking. Guadalupe also progressed alot this past week. She has been reading the Book of Mormon and also decided to stop smoking and drinking coffee. She is ready to go and knows it`s true so I’m pretty sure she`ll get baptized soon.
Also, on Friday last week I went to a district leaders counsel and good old Elder Cruz taught us more about working with the ward and president also taught about loving the people we teach more. It was good to see everyone back in the offices though and as well Elder Pinther and Tew. President kept making jokes about us being old and about just sending us home now because we have so much time haha. President is a funny guy. This week should be busy for us though with the baptisms and also I’m planning on going on splits with some elders in my district.
Alma 42:27 “Therefore, O my son, whosever will come may come and partake of the waters of life freely; and whosoever will not come the same is not compelled to come; but in the last day it shall be restored unto him according to his deeds.” This scripture teaches us about how we have the agency to choose to partake of the waters of life or no but also explains that if we don`t we`ll have the consequences in the last day. It is important that in this life we can partake of the waters of life or gospel so that we can have the blessings in the last day.
