Hello ya'll!

¡Hola familia!

Well it’s been quite an interesting week here in the offices as usual.  We started off the week on Tuesday doing a contacting activity for a few hours in the morning.  We went to this outdoor market place and just started talking to the people that were walking by and ended up getting some pretty promising addresses.  We visited many of though and a lot of them turned out to be false addresses.  There are a lot of people here who do that, just act interested and give us a false address so that we will leave them alone.  I don’t really understand why they do it haha.  Then right after an elder got to the mission right before lunch from Puebla.  He had been in the Culiacan Mission but became sick because of the air pressure (it’s by the coast and Puebla is in the mountains) His name is Elder Robelo and he actually worked his us until Saturday when he was assigned a companion.  I’m running out of time though so I’ll give the highlights of the week.  So Xotchipil was baptized on Saturday and her dad was actually able to baptize her which was awesome (they are the less active family we found like 3 weeks ago).  Also, Luci was able to go to the baptism with one of her friends from the ward and she really wants to get baptized.  The people that she lives with won’t let her though (she is an orphan) and say that if she does it they are going to kick her out of the house.  But, if that happens, she will be able to stay with her member friend.  So that was pretty awesome, if everything goes well she should be getting baptized in a 2 weeks or so.  Also, Jesus and Maria, the investigators we have had since I got here are finally going to get baptized!!  Saturday is the day and also Javier Rivera is going to be getting baptized.  The three are Christians and all three seem like they will be really strong in the church once they get baptized.  It’s been pretty crazy here in the offices as well these past couple of days because 3 of the 6 elders here in the offices are leaving the offices this change (my comp. finishes his mission) so there have been some special changes which always make things interesting moving people in the mission halfway through the change.  Today, we were able to finally relax a little though and went to a park and biked around a little reservoir.  So that was a fun change of scenery.  Well I have to take off love you all! The church is true! And if you don’t believe me just ask the One who knows!

2 Nephi 5:27 “And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness.” This is a really interesting verse if you think about all the trials that Nephi went through.  He went through so much such as being beat and almost killed multiple times by his brothers, crossed a wilderness and at times experienced hardships such as when they almost starved when he broke his bow.   Nephi realized that being happy is a choice not just something inherited from the situation.  He realized that true happiness came from keeping the commandments (Mosiah 2:41).  Let us make the choice to be happy by choosing to obey the commandments.
