3 Baptisms!

July 11, 2011

Well this was a pretty good week for us.  I wasn’t in the area too much but the baptisms we had planned all went through which was definitely a miracle.  On Tuesday, we were able to baptize a girl named Azalea.  She is the one whose parents got baptized like 20 years ago and her boyfriend like 6 months ago but she really seems like she has a strong testimony.  Then on Saturday, we baptized Jaime who is a guy that is like 52 years old.  We were walking by his house one day and he was trying to walk to a steep incline and was struggling so we offered to help him and then after we asked him if he wanted to go to church with us the next day and he came and liked it alot and decided he wanted to get baptized.  He has a hard time getting around though because he has diabetes and his feet are damaged from it.  Also on Saturday we baptized Denisse.  Her parents are hard core Christians and the whole family has been to church for more than a month.  The parents still don’t want to get baptized but Denisse did so we baptized her.  I could definitely see her going on a mission.  So pretty much all week we were busy baptizing and doing the zone counsel.  On Wednesday night I also went to Celaya for the first time on divisions with the zone leaders there.  We also saw some more miracles yesterday and were able to have 10 investigators in church.  We saw the hand of the Lord before church with some of our investigators that are supposed to be getting baptized this week.  We went to there house before to church and they said that they couldn’t go to church because they were having alot of money problems and they were going to get kicked out of their house.  We shared Mosiah 2:41 with them and promised them blessings.  They said they would go even if it was just for an hour and then right then we heard a knock on the door and it ended up being a friend that the lady had invited to go to church with her.  So they went to church and even decided to stay all three hours so that was really cool.  The friend really liked it too and wants us to go by this week to teach her family.  So yep, just working hard down here and seeing alot of miracles.  This week will be another busy one for us.  We have 2 baptisms planned for Wednesday but we might have to postpone them till Friday because today we are going to Irapuato which is like an hour away and then tomorrow we are going to have a zone conference there and then after work with some elders there and then on Thursday here in Leon we have zone conference.  So we’ll see how this will work out haha.  But yeah just know everything is going good here.  The church is true the book is blue, if you don’t believe me read the thing!!

Mosiah 2:31 "And now, my brethren, I would that ye should do as ye have hitherto done. As ye have kept my commandments, and also the commandments of my father, and have prospered, and have been kept from falling into the hands of your enemies, even so if ye shall keep the commandments of my son, or the commandments of God which shall be delivered unto you by him, ye shall prosper in the land, and your enemies shall have no power over you."

I like the advice that King Benjamin gives to us here.  This scripture is a really good way to explain the need to endure to the end.  If things are going well in our life, we can’t just go into neutral, we have to keep moving forward and as we do that, the Lord will continue to bless us.

Love you all,
Elder Price
