So this is been a good week of good hard work. We went to Leon last week for the Zone leaders counsel and we always get pretty pumped up to work hard when we go. So we worked really hard this week. Elder Preece is limping along now though with some pretty good blisters. He was secretary in Leon before so he’s getting back in the hang of working all day and walking alot again. The hard work paid off though and we had 10 people in church yesterday. We also had a miracle happen ADRIAN WENT TO CHURCH! Yep that guy that was drunk that we found a few weeks back. We actually hadn’t been able to find him all week until Saturday night. We showed up and he was pretty bad. We had a really direct lesson with him though and he realized that the way he is living right now is destroying his life. He was a little hung-over still but I think that it was a huge step for him in recovering his life. We are also teaching an elderly couple that is part of an incomplete family (not everyone in the family is a member). The husband is 87 years old and she is probably like 75 years old. He is a really funny guy though. We asked if it would be ok if we picked him up in a taxi and he said that whatever was ok with him even if we pick him up in an airplane. So we are planning on baptizing them next week and hopefully a few more. Elder Preece and I have really been working together. He is really obedient and is willing to do whatever we need to do to help our zone out. Our zone was actually the "bautizona" of the month last month. But some of the companionships are struggling so we implented a new program for the zone. To motivate the zone we are going to give out prizes for when they complete with goals we’ve established. For everyday they have 4 new investigators and 40 contacts we are going to give them a small chocolate candy and if they get 4 people to church they get a candy bar. Then the ultimate goal is that if every companionship brings 4 investigators to church on a given Sunday, we are going to take the zone bowling. So we are really hoping this will help get the zone excited. Last night was a pretty crazy night; we ended up being at the hospital until about midnight with some missionaries. An elder went to a doctor because he was pretty sick yesterday and the doctor told him he might have typhoid fever so he had to go to do a bunch of tests. So that was a long 4 hours haha. Waiting in the hospital in Mexico is just as boring as waiting in the hospital in the U.S. just if you were wondering haha. But yeah I have a 2.5 hour bus ride today to Atahualpa so I’d better get going.
Alma 50:22 “And those who were faithful in keeping the commandments of the Lord were delivered at all times, whilst thousands of their wicked brethren have been consigned to bondage, or to perish by the sword, or to dwindle in unbelief, and mingle with the Lamanites.” When we keep the commandments we are free from the power of the adversary. Alot of people think that the commandments restrict us but that is a lie from the Devil. If we truly want to be free we need to keep the commandments in the scriptures and also the counsel of the modern day prophets.
Love ya´ll
