A week of Miracles…..

Wow this has been quite the week for us here in Jesus Maria and I wasn’t even in my area for most of the week haha. I guess ill start with what we did on Tuesday. We had a zone conference and the president and his assistants talked to us about what we can to do improve our areas. Something that was really stressed was talking with everyone and also planning better so that we don’t waste time during the day. After that we went and ate lunch and then just worked until the end of the day. On Wednesday, we went to an area in my district that is really struggling and contacted and knocked doors like crazy until lunch to try and give them some people to work with. So that was pretty fun haha. After lunch I had to go travel to Leon so that took up the rest of the day. It was pretty cool though because there were alot of elders that I hadn’t seen for a long time like Elder Pinther from my MTC generation so all we did was eat dinner and go to bed. Thursday was a pretty hardcore day of training. We started at like 9 in the morning and had an hour break for lunch and then we finished at 5 and we went out and worked for the rest of the day. It was really cool though because there were a lot of missionaries working in 1 group and what we did was waited at a stoplight and passed out absolutely every piece of proselyting material that we had. It was really kind of fun because you had to present yourself give out the material and write down their address all before the light turned green. So it was a really good speed talking exercise haha. Friday we had more training until about 6 and then went back to our areas. I really learned alot in the training sessions though. They were teaching us about how to teach by the Spirit better and what we need to focus on in our teaching (basically revelation through prayer, the Book of Mormon, and going to church) I can definitely notice a difference though in my teaching. Something else that happened this week is that we started an English class. Oh yeah! It is really cool though because Silvia (she got baptized like 2 months ago) is the teacher. But the first class was on Friday and we had like 7 investigators there. What was really awesome though that happened this week was the miracles that happened with an investigator named Adriana. She was interviewed on Friday but told the zone leader that she didn’t want to get baptized on Sunday because she didn’t want to be alone. So we figured we would just wait until the next week when we had more people. But then on Friday night another investigator told us she wanted to get baptized on Sunday so we figured perfect looks like we’ll baptize them both. So then on Saturday we taught Adriana and the truth was it was really spiritual. We started the lesson by singing “Nearer my God to Thee” and then taught about the blessings of baptism. I can honestly say that we were tools in the hands of the Lord in the lesson. At the end she decided she would get baptized and what topped it off is that her son that is 10 gave the closing prayer and prayed that his mom would get baptized. But then later in the night the other girl told us she wasn’t going to be able to go to church with her brother because they were going out of town. So that complicated things for us because we said to Adriana that there would be 2 baptisms so we prayed and fasted that she would be able to make the decision to still get baptized. Sunday Adriana and some of her family showed up to church alone and we explained to her the situation and later said that it was ok and she was going to get baptized. So the point of it is she got baptized!! I’ll send pics next week but it was awesome because as well we had 5 investigators there and after they all said they wanted to get baptized. So it looks like we are going to be pretty busy these next few weeks!

And this is the blessing which hath been bestowed upon us, that we have been made instruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work. The joys of missionary work are real! I love my mission and seeing people change!!
