How are yell doing? Well this has been an awesome week as usual down in Mexico. We are starting to get used to the 2 areas now which is good. The first couple of days were pretty crazy until we got the hang of it. We have a lot of people with potential in the teaching pool right now. We have quite a few that we are planning to help them get baptized this month which is really cool. We have one lady who is really progressing alot right now. Her name is Adriana and is like 30 years old. She has 3 children and her husband died a couple of years ago. Her mom got baptized about 6 months ago as well as her son that is 10 years old. All we need to do now is help her quit drinking coffee. She has a baptismal date for this Sunday so we are going to do everything we can this week to help her get baptized. As well yesterday, 2 teenagers came to church with us. One is named Fernando and is 17 years old and his sister is named Lupita and is 15 years old. The whole family was supposed to go but in the morning the dad decided he didn’t want to go and wouldn’t let his wife go either which was pretty sad. They really liked church though and after Lupita asked us when she can get baptized (she was also asking us if she could be a missionary as well haha) so we are going to talk to her parents this week and see if we can baptize her on Sunday as well. The work is really going good here though; we are definitely seeing alot of miracles in our area. One really cool thing that happened this week was that we were getting in a little van/bus thing to go to Pabellon (one of the areas in my district) and the elder who I was on splits with Elder Scott suddenly said that we needed to get out of the van. Neither of us knew why but we felt like we shouldn’t take that van. Right after we got out it was hit by a semi and burst into flames... ok so that part didn’t happen (gotcha mom (; ) but what did happen was that some little girl came up to us and said that her mom and dad wanted to talk to us. So we went and started talking to the family and it turned out that they had just barely moved from a different state to here and couldn’t find the church here. It turns out as well that the nine year daughter wasn’t baptized and was about to get baptized by the missionaries but then they moved. They didn’t live in our area but it was really cool to see the hand of the Lord in the work.
This week I won’t have too much time to work in my area because it is a really crazy week. Tomorrow we have zone conference all morning, Wednesday we are going to "flood" an area in my district, which basically means the whole district is going to work like crazy in the area because they are really struggling right now and Thursday and Friday I am going to be in Leon for more training. So faith will really have to play a huge part in my area this week haha.
Ok the scripture for the week is a scripture that Elder Scott just showed me. It is in Helaman 3:28 “Yea, thus we see that the agate of heaven is open unto all, even to those who will believe on the name of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God.” It says that the door of heaven is open for all who want to believe in the name of Jesus. There are alot of people who think that as a church, we exclude those of other religions from heaven. The reality is that all who want to believe will investigate and find that the Book of Mormon is true and is a witness of Jesus Christ and those who do not have that chance in this life will be able to in the next life. I love you all and hope all is well!!
Love ya all!!!
Elder Price
