Raymond's First Email
Hola me familia! How is everything on the home front? By the way i ended up wasting a bunch of my time because i didn't know how to work the system but i got it now but this email might be shorter than they will be usually. My weeks been good so far. There is a saying in the MTC. They say the days are long but the weeks are short. This is so true!! It does not seem like i've been here for a whole week yet. It's been an interesting week though. I didn't start out my mission career all that great seeing as how the first "real" day i ended up going to class with two different piars of shoes on and i didn't notice it until halfway through the day. That day i also realized that my favorite Spanish goodbye "Sianara" isn't actually Spanish, it's Japanese! I wondered why everyone was looking at me so weird those first couple of days. On tuesday, we woke up at 6 to shower and in my haste apparently i shut the door to my dorm room and it locked (we never lock our door so it was weird) but i ended up getting ouf of the shower and realizing it was locked and then my companion got out of the shower and he didn't have a key either so we were S.O.L. The worst part about it was we couldn't even leave the building to get a spare key because we were just in towels. We ended up having to wait for someone in our district to get all dressed so we ended up chillling in our towels for like 20 minutes. Not fun haha. Besides my foolishness, the MTC is great. We have an awesome branch president who encourages us to be bold and use the Book of Mormon. He told us to send our bibles home so you might be getting a package here soon (by the way thanks for the package it was awesome!). I'm kidding about the whole sending the Bible home though i think it might have some use down there in Mexico. Oh before i forget my camera is being all wiggety wack on me again so it would be awesome if you could send me Shantelle's old one or something. Don't worry i've had my companion take plenty so i'll print some off sometime and send them. Thank you all family for the letters (friends i'm disappointed ;) jk jk) but it's nice getting your letters. It also helps pad my score a bit for the competition my district is having regarding who gets the most letters. Girls i get 2 points for a hand written so just saying i could use your support ;). The Spanish language is a bit overwhelming sometimes especially since there are mulitiple people in my class who have taken it throughout high school and into college and one sister even lived in Mexico for 6 months! But it's coming along. I know that I'll get it if i work hard so that's what i'm doing. By the way i'm trying to get all those letters written back to you familia i just don't have all that much time except for p-day so be patient. Oh and Mathew hatch isn't in my class or anything but i see him everyonce in a while. I also see Micheal winters quite often as well as Jacob Hart, Devin Ockerman and Zach Excell. Devin was supposed to be in Brazil a while back but couldn't get a visa but i guess he's leaving today. In closing i just want all you know i'm in the right place. Don't worry about me i'm doing fine. The church is true and Joseph Smith truly did restore it. But i have like 1 minute left so i got to run to the temple. Love you lots i'll be praying for you. I'll try to get some more letters off. THANK YOU ALL!!! LOVE YOU ALL! -- ELDER RAYMOND DALE PRICE
